Security procedures for your Signage Network - steps and video demonstration
Putting your signage device online, exposing all factory settings to the public network makes your signage network vulnerable to malicious attack. That’s why it is important to apply efficient security policy to prepare your device for leaving its comfort zone (a private network):
- Remove default / factory accounts
- Use long and mixed characters in all passwords
- Only route local ports to public if necessary
- Never use common ports (e.g. 80, 21, 22) with public IP
- Consider changing the Master Password before putting device online
- Never share accounts
All these rules are applicable to all Onelan products, including standalone player, subscriber and publisher, and also CMS network. Easy and effective!
